The Neighbourhood Travel Team can provide free advice
and information on travel from and within the St Helens area. This will include
a personal travel plan and/or map which will help take you from beginning to end of your journey in detail. The Travel Team will also help those individuals or organisations that may have special requirements to
access the public or private sector transport system with greater ease.
Scooter Commuter
If you live in one of the qualifying areas in Merseyside
and have the offer of work, training or education, you may be able to join the Workwise Merseyside Scooter Commuter Scheme.
The scheme offers a 50cc Scooter to help you get to places of employment or education that you can't get to by public transport.
complete with training, insurance, tax and safety equipment.
Eligibility
Are you currently unemployed/not in education or training?
Do you have an offer of employment (minimum 3 months)
or training of at least 3 days and 16 hours a week?
Are you at least 16 years old?
Is it difficult tfor you to get to employment, training
or education by public transport?
If you can answer yes to the above then you may be
able to join.
Travel Passes/Funding
If you are unemployed/at risk of redundancey or are
attending a short recognised training course, you may be elegible for a bus pass or funding to get you to your destination.
